Keeping Tulsa’s music playing.

Speakerworks grew from a need for service for home, automotive, and professional audio equipment. Founder David Miller built the shop around repair and restoration, alongside an appreciation for the equipment and the music it brings to life.

Known as “Speaker Dave,” David brings extensive knowledge of vintage audio to the workbench. The shop’s speaker-repair tradition includes refoaming, reconing, diaphragm replacement, and grille restoration. Available work depends on the equipment and parts.

David’s connection to sound goes beyond equipment. A University of Tulsa music-education graduate, he also ran a mobile DJ business for 42 years. Music, listening, and hands-on repair are all part of the Speakerworks story.

A new chapter began in 2026 when James Hiatt partnered with David on audio equipment and sales. David continues handling repairs, while James focuses on the equipment and sales side of the business. Together, they carry Speakerworks’ Tulsa roots into its next chapter.
